amistd1FLW American Fishing Series is the old FLW Stren tournament trail. It is hard for me to get use to that name but here it first time in my blog. The first tournament was held on January 7-10 2010. I had no idea of the cold and windy conditions that would be in store for all anglers in this tournament. After a hard practice and a very cold start to the tournament I finished 32nd. I am pleased with the finish. Of course you always look back , but this tournament I can say I did my best and brought my boat back in one piece. I would like to congratulate Micheal Yoder for his win on Lake Falcon and Keith Combs for his impressive bag of 41-1 ( The now heaviest bag in FLW history). I will be on Lake Sam Rayburn Feb. 4-6 2010. for the next FLW tournament.

I would like to say with the spawn just around the corner if your not running a Power Pole it is time to check in to one. The silent secure swift nature will land more fish in your boat that you could ever imagine. Please feel free to email me if I can help you answer any questions about Power Pole. As Always……always fishing

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Author: stren1  //  Category: Journal

deer 2It has been a while since I posted. I rolled into Waco,Texas the day after  the Toledo Bend tournament and was in my deer blind for opening day of bow season. I have been in a blind somewhere in Texas everyday since. I have been working on the up coming tournament season schedule and sponsorships for the 2010 season. I am excited about the opportunities that have presented themselves to me this coming season. I will say that I will be making some sponsorship announcements in late December. As much as I love the hunting, I am missing being on the water everyday. I have found though that time off  from the water only makes me more thankful and more driven for the sport I am so privelege to be involved in.

I hope that everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. as always…always fishin

Top 40 will go to Pickwick to fish the 2009 FLW Stren Championship which will kick off November 5-7.  You know I can’t say much about where and how I am catching but I can say I have had the best pre- fishing days this year on Toledo Bend. The tournament kicks off Thursday October 15-17. I am have high hopes that this may be the best finish for me in 2009 season. Will keep you posted… Remember, you can catch live action on www.codymalone.com click on tour page and the FLW live stream. 2009 Stren Central

Author: stren1  //  Category: Journal

ozark09The FLW Stren Central tournament at Lake of the Ozarks is over. I finished 37th and felt good about my performance. I adjusted and executed with precision.  I finished the Central Division for the 2009 season 66th out of 316 anglers. With me fishing only three out  of the four tournaments in that division, I feel good about that place. I will be headed to Toledo Bend for the last FLW Stren Texas. This is where the pressure rises for me. I am standing 35th in the overall standings now. I will keep you updated as the fishing starts on Toledo. as always…….always fishin

FLW Stren Central Lake of the Ozarks

Author: stren1  //  Category: Journal

7819_1056914242378_1811533062_129033_7379768_n The Lake of the Ozarks tournament begins in the morning. I can say I have had a blast during my pre – fishing. I have covered a lot of water and caught a lot of fish. The quantity is not a problem, the quality may be. I have talked about the mental part of the game in my news letter. I believe that there comes a point in the game that you can over analyze, prepare, and sometimes bang your head against the deck of your boat. But in the end you can only do two things and that is  keep focused  and Just Fish. To often I have seen anglers including myself have great pre-fish periods and than tournament day rolls around and you just don’t get what you thought you would. I have seen that same scenario the other way, you fish and try everything and think there is just no way your gonna bring in five and tournament day rolls around and there you are with five. In this sport that is what keeps us on edge all the time. The not knowing.I will say that this fishery is great and if you have never fished it, you ought to give it a go. So with all that said I am gonna follow my own advice , Stay Focused and Just Fish. as always……always fishin

I wanted to Thank everyone who came  by the  Power Pole  Booth at Lake Fork Mc Donald’s Big Bass Splash. The turn out was incredible.

I am heading out on the last pull for the 09″tournament trail. I will be heading first to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for the last  tournament on the FLW Stren Central Division. Than I will pull to Toledo Bend for the last tournament in the FLW Stren Texas Division. It seems unreal that I have only two tournaments left in the 09′ season. They say “Time flies when your having fun” and I guess that is the truth. I will keep you posted as the fishing starts. Getting everything ready to go, so as always…….always fishin
