Charlie Pack

If you have ever asked me when I knew I wanted to become a Professional Angler  you would of heard me say “When I was five and won my first trophy at the Charlie Pack Fishing Festival”

I was very honored when my manager received a call from Texas Parks and Wildlife to do an interview about that fateful day. You see Charlie Pack is being inducted to the Texas Freshwater Fishery Hall of Fame June 7,2008.

I was on Kentucky Lake but my mom went and told my story for me. This video will be shown in Athens, Texas at the Freshwater Fishery anytime after June 7,2008.

I would like to add something that I think is important. Charlie Pack as long as I can remember has been a hometown hero. I happened to fish the first children fishing festival he ever put on. I still have that trophy.  He is a hero who took time for children to teach the Passion of fishing. It is because of Charlie Pack I know that Passion. It was an honor than and is now to say that this is where my love of this sport began.  For me, I  always take the time when children ask if they can see the fish I caught or sign an autograph. My hope is that everyone  pass this love of fishing on to the children of today because you never know what an impression you can make on them.

I can only say “Thanks Charlie .” Always Fishing…….

texoma-one.jpgWell here I am again, fished on Lake Texoma. That is one lake that is either really good to me or really bad. I can visit this lake at the same time every year and catch and the next time nothing. Well maybe that is just fishing.:)

I am home on Lake Fork for a few weeks. Just kicking back and enjoying some good ole fun fishing. I will head north next month so Heather and I have family visiting every weekend till then.We will be gone for at least two months. I am really looking forward to the Northern Stren Division.

Just wanted to post and say Have a Safe Memorial Day and Keep Fishing……..

Just a note: Check out Fantasy Fishing on FLWOutdoors.com A great way to win some money…We could all use some of that :)

kentucky-200.jpgOn any day I go fishing with Cody I try to always take pictures of the fish he catches and I email them to the family and friends.

Yesterday,Cody caught a 4-5 lb bass! During prefishing on Lake Texoma. We were trying to let it go, because there were two other anglers right around the corner behind this boat slip. Cody yells real loud at me not to kick my feet in the water hes trying to fish. So I throw my legs over and start to splash right before the other guys turn thinking Cody had caught a fish. They thought it was me making the splash instead of the fish. It worked ,right before we left that spot I spalshed some more. You should of seen them look. But hey if it works it works Right. Can’t let the competition know where your catching them.

Cody is on them and I of course am just standing by in case….. I need to make a SPLASH :)

Stay Tuned FLW Texas Division Starts Wed May 7-10

Super Winds

Author: stren1  //  Category: Journal

This is how it ended on the second run of the FLW Central Division.

A strong super cell storm with wind gusts up to 100mph.

Some of the anglers came in early , some of us just turned up the troll motor to high and stayed with it. The last would be me.

Lost fish was the name of this game on Kentucky Lake. The pattern was just nuts. No rhyme or reason. You just caught them or you didn’t. I caught them, 11lb plus the first two days.  Each of these days I lost good size keepers. With my decision to fish docks the risk was great to loose a fish or two. In the end it can cost you.It did me. The last day I lost a good one at the boat when the storm system came in. I lost my biggest fish while at the tanks ,that cost me also. I ended up 69 but placing me in 52 nd overall for the Central Division.

My question now with the 1st Central with snow and the 2nd with a Super Cell Storm what does the third hold. I guess we will just have to wait and see…….
