It Is All About The Points

on-stage-good.jpgIt has been awhile since I had time to blog, I have been on Sam Rayburn fishing the Stren Texas Division. It all looked real good for  five days before the tournament and than mother nature blew in with that cold front. Thankfully it turned warmer during the tournament. First day out I made a long run and that was it for my motor. I swear my middle name should” be won’t start“. I had that sinking feeling, but I tried to keep focused. I dropped my Minkota  fished everything I could reach with my trolling motor. I weighed in at 11.10 lbs. The second day a Local guy loaned me his boat and out I took again. Coming in with 15.15 lbs and making the 50 check cut. More importantly I am 16 out of 247 anglers in theStren Texas Division.

The lesson I want to teach is in fishing nothing is for sure. The weather, the electronics, the motor not even the fish. Being a professional is about adapting. Making do with what you got. Sometimes that isn’t much. At the front of that boat no matter what the situation you have to stay focused. Every year the changes come at you like a whirl wind. After two years of being hit from every angle I have learned and learned well to just stay focused. Focused is what landed me higher in the points than I have ever been. So if your caught out there with nothing and you think your out of the game ,just focus adapt and do what I do …..just fish……….always fishing
