I am back on Lake Fork. We stopped in Waco for a few days coming back from Del Rio. We headed back to Fork, as always as soon as the truck was unpacked I headed to boat ramp. Heather and I both couldn’t wait to see how the fishing was since we had been gone. We hadn’t been out but maybe 30 minutes at the most , I had Heather up front with me on front deck and I had a bite , than she had one and I will let the picture show you what her outcome was. I always heard there is no place like home and there is not especially when home is on Lake Fork. The fishing is not just good it is fantastic. Just wanted to let you know that I was back on Fork. Just a reminder if your down this way don’t miss a chance to visit Froggy D store or if you need some advice or looking for a guide trip contact me through my web site @ www.codymalone.com I would also like to remind you to check out my Lake Fork Fishing Report through Powertackle website www.powertackle.com. as always …….always fishing

Erie was Erie
I have to say I am in no way sorry that the Central Division on Detroit River is over. Lake Erie is just not a fishery I have ever had much success at. I had my hopes that my second visit would turn out much different but as the old saying goes "It was what it was". I can say that I prepped ...
The FLW Stren Texas Division on Amistad was not exactly what I was hoping for but over all it could of been a lot worse. With that said I think this is an opportunity to get back to the basic of this blog. I said from the beginning I wanted to let you know what we as Professional Anglers go through it is not always as it seems. We are up against so many variables every tournament and sometimes those variables are out of our control. Lets look at this tournament. I have fished Amistad several times over my course of this career and I would say have done well on this lake but Amistad is not like it once was. The pressure on it has increased over the years, don’t get me wrong you can still catch a ton of fish they are just not big. The water is up to say the least, so if your planning to fish what was last year it is alot deeper than what it was. Than there is the mechanical aspect of any tournament we are all at the mercy of our equipment we use. Sometimes we can improvise and sometimes we cant. I did experience mechanical problems the first day and lost valuable fishing spots due to this. Than of course there is always the mental game. To go out do your best and know you can, than the stars seemed stacked against you around every bend. You do like I did and weigh in the first day with four fish for a 7.8 lbs because I sat in one spot all day because of mechanical problems. You spend 7 hours work-in through those problems to fish again day two when your spots have been hammered and weigh in five at 10.12lbs. I look back every tournament and realize there are some things we don’t control. I do not believe in luck but I can say if I did mine was not all that good but looking back I know it could of been worse. I am still in the Top 40 of the Stren Texas Division. The next tournament is on Toledo Bend in October. I will clear the dust from Mexico and hit the last Texas Division Tournament with all I have. I would like to congratulate Jim Milson of Del Rio, Texas for his win on Amistad. …… Always Fishin
Tomorrow is the day. First day of FLW Stren Texas Divison on Lake Amistad. I have been pre fishing hard. I can tell you that I have caught a lot of fish. I am as prepared as I can ever be in this line of business. I have a plan, execution of it is the key. The weather here looks stable for the three days of fishing with temperature in the 90 degree range and winds on Thursday SE 12 mph Friday looks about the same with winds shifting to ESE at 9 mph. I can report now that fishing is not the same as what I have seen it before on Amistad.I think we will see some big stringers weighed in and I am hoping I am one of them. I am in the zone and as ready as ready gets. Remember to follow the FLW action just log on to www.codymalone.com and click on the Tourbutton. ……….always fishin
I am back from Kentucky and on to Lake Amistad for the Texas Division of FLW Stren. Lets first talk about Kentucky. I was feeling real good with my pre fishing until the rains came and the water started rising and falling hourly. Not just inches but feet. It was a tough tournament and finishing 99 out of 220 boats was as good as I could get. I still love Kentucky Lake and look forward to going back but with that said it is time to move on.
Amistad is a Texas Lake I love. I will be fishing FLW Stren Texas Division May 21-23. I am looking forward to keeping you posted on my success. I have to admit the pressure is more this year than any time before with my standings in the point field on the Texas Division at 16. I can say I am sweating with pressure or maybe it is just the 100 plus temperature here in Del Rio. I can tell you from one day out the Fish are Biting!!!
Let me remind everyone that my new website at http://www.codymalone.com is up. Hope everybody checks it out and sign up for the once a month newsletter beginning June 15th. Untill later ………always fishin
I have to say I look forward to coming to Kentucky Lake every time I get a chance. I love this lake. The fishing is always good no matter what time of year it is. I live to catch smallies and this lake is full of them. I got to the Morrs Resort on the 27th and hit the lake doing my homework. I have caught alot of fish when the sky fell open and dumped more than 3.26 inches in a 48hr window. Lets just say we went past flood stage. I came off the lake for Sunday due to severe storms. Monday AM the rain and storms had moved out. I am pre fishing for the FLW Central Stren Division this Thurs and Friday. I will keep you posted. …… Alway Fishin
