Thieves Hit Lake Fork

The reason I started this blog was to communicate the real deal of a Professional Bass Angler. Up unto this point I have always tried to keep to the positive side, that is until this post. I awoke Sunday a.m to find rod socks  thrown all over outside my boat. With one glance of those rod socks I knew. My heart sank to my stomach and I had a fleeting urge to shoot someone. I thought at first that maybe the thieves had just taken the rods on deck as I looked into my rod locker there  was  the empty truth, the empty space where there had once been every rod and reel I had ever owned GONE.

I don’t know why, I really don’t care why they did it. I know the sheriff said it was a spree Saturday nite on Lake Fork. The thieves hit over 10 boats only taking rods. What I do care about is letting them know what I do know about them.

1) They aren’t fisherman because any fool that fished would of not cut my baits off my rods considering just hours before I had hung a 10 pound-er on one of those rods and the  bait that I caught her on was laying on the ground.

2) They will be eventually be caught, you don’t mess with someones lively hood and get away with it.

3) I hope they hang them when they do catch them.

I have heard of this happening to other anglers. During tournaments, at ramps but never would I think it would be me. I know this is how  it is with the  couldn’t be me syndrome. If you are reading this, please know it could be you. Watch your back and your stuff. I hope these thieves are caught before someone else finds their rod locker empty. I feel bad for these people in a very small way, that they are so desprate to steal a mans tools that make his living. I would like to say my rods were PowerTackle and my reels Quantum  a deadly combination on the water and if I ever find these people well what can I say ………..Wishin I was Fishin

Mc Donald’s Tournament was a Splash

power-pole-pic.jpgJust an update to let everyone know that the Mc Donalds Big Bass Splash on Toledo Bend was just great. I would like to take time to thank everyone who stopped by the Power Pole Booth. I enjoyed meeting all of you and if I can assist anyone in a purchase of a Power Pole let me know. You can always reach me by email through my website at www.codymalone.com. We beat the heat on Toledo Bend and believe me it was hot. As alwaysBob Sealy put on a great tournament. I can say I had my eye on the lake knowing it is going to be my last destination on the FLW Stren Texas Division. I am back on Lake Fork doing what I do best, fishing, I am booked with guide trips  for most of July if you are interested in one, please feel free to contact me and I will see what I can do to accommodate you.  Remember it is prime fishing anywhere right now but with the  summer sun  brings all kinds of danger to the waters we are use to fishing. Always check your water levels , drier conditions can mean a whole change to a lake. Lowered water levels mean sand bars, stumps and floating debris. Lets not forget that with the sun and summer we need to keep an eye out for those pleasure people on boats, tubes and swimmers. Hope everyone beats the heat and keep a tight line. ………..Always Fishin

I am headed to Toledo Bend. Not for a tournament this time but for the    Power-Pole  booth at the McDonald’s Big Bass Splash. I hope that if your headed down that way for the tournament you will stop by and see me. I won’t be hard to find just look for the Power Pole wrapped boat.  I would love to show you the benefits of having this great product on your boat. I run duals on mine and the advantage of two is tremendous.

I have been guiding heavy on Lake Fork the past three weeks and the fishing is still as hot as the Texas temperatures. I do have some space for some guide trips left for the month of July before I leave for the FLW Stren Central Division. If you would like some info on whats going on Lake Fork give me a shout through my website www.codymalone.com I will hook you up……….always fishin
